Moon calendar

The moon calendar shows the daily rhythm of the Moon: lunar days, sign changes, aspects to other planets and periods of planetary retrograde.

Lunar days

The lunar day begins at moonrise and is numbered from the new moon. There are 29 or 30 lunar days in a cycle. Some days are favorable for beginnings, others for endings, reflection or rest.

Moon sign and aspects

The Moon changes sign every 2–3 days. Its aspects to other planets show which energies are active. A day with many Moon aspects is emotionally eventful; a day with few aspects is calmer.

Ingresses and retrogrades

Planetary ingresses mark the beginning of new cycles. Retrograde periods invite review and reconsideration. The AstroTarget calendar highlights these events so you can plan accordingly.

How to use the calendar

Use the calendar for planning, but not as a strict rule. The moon shows the emotional weather; your own chart shows how it affects you personally. Learn more about current transits in the transits guide.
