FAQ about astrology
Answers to the most common questions users ask before building their first chart or reading a forecast.
How to ask a good astrology question
The best questions are about understanding, not just yes/no predictions. Ask "What does this transit activate in my chart?" rather than "Will this happen?" Astrology is most useful when it helps you understand patterns.
Where to start learning
Start with your own natal chart. Learn the planets, signs, houses and aspects, then move to transits. The article about natal charts is a good first step.
Frequently asked questions
Is astrology a science?
Astrology is a symbolic system, not a science in the modern empirical sense. It uses astronomical data to interpret psychological and life patterns.
Can astrology predict the future?
Astrology shows tendencies, timing and repeating themes. It does not predict exact events because free will and context matter.
What if the birth time is unknown?
You can still calculate a chart without the time, but the houses and Ascendant will be missing. Rectification may help estimate the time.
What is the best house system?
There is no single best system. AstroTarget uses Placidus, which is widely used for natal and predictive work.
Do transits always manifest as events?
Not always. A transit can manifest internally, through moods, decisions or external circumstances.
