North Node in the natal chart
The lunar nodes are not planets but the two points where the Moon's orbit crosses the ecliptic. The North Node shows your direction of growth, the South Node your accumulated experience. Together they form an axis of development running through the chart.
What the lunar nodes are
The Moon's orbit is tilted about five degrees to the ecliptic, so it crosses that plane twice a month. The crossing into the northern half is the North (ascending) Node, the opposite point is the South (descending) Node. When a new or full Moon happens near a node, we get an eclipse, which is why this axis carries so much weight in forecasting.

The North Node as a growth zone
The North Node describes qualities that do not come naturally. Acting in its direction takes effort at first, yet it produces a clear sense of progress. The South Node is the comfort zone: everything works there without thinking, but repeating those patterns eventually feels like standing still.
The practical rule is simple. Use South Node skills as tools, but set goals along the North Node. It is not about abandoning your strengths, it is about applying them in a new field.
